Calligraphy classes

On Mondays and Wednesdays I attend to calligraphy classes in Beijing. It is really cool although it is hard too. You have to keep doing it many times until it works.
Our professor is Chinese and has a lot of experience, but he doesn't speak any English, so one of the top Chinese level students has to make translations during class. The last day was really cool because we were talking about classic music singers that he like and I could understand some of the Chinese.

Class papers, projects, etc.

And how are the things going at class? I think they are going really well. I love my classes this semester.
The classes are harder this semester than last one but I think I can do it and pass all of them before I go to China!
Just 42 days to go to China and less to finish this great academic year (I am sad every time I think about it).
At JMC 98 I have to do a web page with a classmate with the stories my other classmates have written about the topic "Working in Iowa." I also have to visit the "Des Moines Register" and write a paper about the work of the web editor. This is my favorite class and I really like the things we have done with professor Richardson.
At JMC 59 I have to design a web page about the same topic I took the pictures before (Mars Cafe). I started it this morning and I have to finish by Monday, April 9th.
At JMC 119, we are working in the design of our magazines, working with InDesign and doiing the Business Plan. This class is really hard for me because it is very specific and I did not have any other magazine class before.
At Honors 84 I have to finish a paper of 5-6 pages about Ansel Adams or other photographers works, I have to read a book and I have to work on my final paper (25 pages) about the Prestige Catastrophe that happened in Spain some years ago.
So I am busy during these last weeks but I am going to spend time with friends, around campus and doing homework.
This Friday is the ISA (International Student Association) Formal. And this is what is going on: "Start the evening with a limousine ride to the hotel located in downtown Des Moines and enjoy great food, music and much more..."

I can't write at Picassina

I can't write at Picassina, my other blog since almost three years ago. I started it just to learn how to write for the web and keep in contact with family and friends from my hometown.
And now I have being without blogging for more than one week, something very unusual and I really miss it. I don't know the solution. The problem is that when I try to publish something a message appears, and it says: your blog is blocked by Blogger robots because they think it is spam. I have report about the problem but they didn't reply me yet.
At class everything is good. I have done some pictures of Mars Cafe for JMC 59 class. At JMC 98, we are practice how to do interviews and how to edit the audio with the program called Audacity. At JMC 119, I am working on a magazine idea. And in Honors 98, we are talking about global warming.

Ahora en español...

No puedo escribir en mi blog Picassina, mi blog desde hace casi tres años. Lo empecé para aprender a escribir en Internet y para que mi familia y mis amigos de mi ciudad supiesen sobre mi en la distancia.

Y ahora, llevo casi una semana sin bloguear y es una cosa muy rara y realmente lo echo mucho de menos. Y n sé cual es la solución. El problema apareció cuando intenté publicar algo y un mensaje de advertencia apareció y decía: tu blog ha sido bloqueado por los robots de Blogger porque pensamos que es spam. He dado a conocer mi problema pero aun no he obtenido ninguna respuesta.

Por clase todo va bien. He hecho algunas fotos de Mars Cafe para mi clase de JMC 59 . En JMC 98, estamos practicando entrevistas y editamos el audio con el programa Audacity. En JMC 119, estoy trabajando en la idea de mi revista. Y en Honors 98, estamos hablando del cambio climático.

Papers and more papers

This weekend I spent most of the hours writing papers for my Honors 48 class and thinking about some project ideas.
I have decided to write the major paper for this class about two environmental problems that happened in Spain; the catastrophe of the "Prestige" and the fires that took place in Galicia during last summer. I think both of them were very important and I can introduce these topics to my class, which probably do not know about it.
In my JMC 59 class I have to take more pictures of Mars Cafe. I am happy with the pictures I took for the previous assignments, but after the professor open them in front of the class, I realized what things I can improve. For example, I did not do any good portrait.
For my JMC 98, I am going to do with another classmate the web page of the final project, that is going to be "Working in Iowa." I will like to do a project closed to "The Ancient Way" but I think it is going to be hard.
And the last one, and the hardest one, my JMC 119. The result of the text was awful. I think it is going to be hard to have good results in this class, but I hope I can developed a good magazine idea in the next few days.
About the weekend, the funniest thing was a birthday celebration and the purple butterfly that my friend was wearing during most part of the night.

Y ahora en español...

Este fin de semana pasé la mayor parte del tiempo escribiendo trabajos para mi clase de Honors 48 y pensando en ideas para algunos proyectos.

He decidido que voy a escribir mi trabajo final para esta clase sobre dos problemas del medio ambiente que ocurrieron en España; la catástrofe del "Prestige" y los incendios que tuvieron lugar en Galicia durante el verano. Creo que ambos fueron muy importantes y que puedo presentar estos temas a mi clase, que probablemente no sabe sobre ellos.
En mi clase JMC 59 tengo que hacer más fotografías del Mars Cafe. Estoy contenta con las fotos que hice para los trabajos anteriores, pero después de que el profesor enseñase las fotos en frente de la clase me di cuenta de que cosas puedo mejorar. Por ejemplo, no hice ningún buen retrato.
Para mi clase JMC 98, voy a hacer con otro compañero la página web para el proyecto final, que va a ser sobre "Trabajar en Iowa". Me gustaría hacer un proyecto parecido a "El camino antiguo" pero creo que va a ser duro.
Y por último, y el más difícil, mi clase JMC 119. El resultado de mi examen fue horrible. Creo que va a ser difícil tener buenos resultados en esta clase, pero espero desarrollar una buena idea para una revista en los próximos días.
Sobre el fin de semana, creo que la cosa más divertida fue la celebración de un cumpleñaos y la mariposa morada que mi amiga llevó casi toda la noche.
